Arm Rest Height

The height of the armrest from the floor.

ArmRestHeight

How to measure

Application

Used in chair and workstation design to position armrests at the correct height for relaxed, supported arm posture during seated tasks. This is a workspace measurement, not a body measurement.

Posture

Sit in your normal seated position with arms relaxed at the sides.

Landmark

Measured from the floor to the top surface of the armrest.

Tool

Tape measure or rigid ruler.

Common mistake

Measure the actual armrest surface of your chair or workspace. Do not estimate or measure the height at which you would prefer the armrest to be.

API example

Request a predicted value for a 34-year-old woman at the 50th percentile in the United States. Adjust age, percentile, gender, and country to match your design scenario.
